Municipal governance, with its varying levels of autonomy, government support, and economic strengths and weaknesses, is an ideal phenomenon for studying public sector financial practices. Today, municipalities are faced with reduced revenue due to the worst recession and have no choice but to adopt cost-cutting strategies. The present study was carried out with the aim of prioritizing cost reduction strategies in Hamadan Municipality. This study is a quantitative, applied, descriptive, survey and cross-sectional study, the data of which was collected by a questionnaire and field method from ten experts and analyzed using the TOPSIS method. The findings of this study show that the strategies for cost reduction are suitable, and among them, saving resources (E) in the first place, reducing the cost of inputs (G) in the second place, economies of scale (F) in the third place, re-engineering methods of cycles Institutional performance and changes (D) ranks fourth, agglomeration economies (B) ranks fifth, use of more efficient tools and technological change (A) ranks sixth, and strategic alliances (C) ranks seventh.
